Landscape Maintenance Supervisor & Irrigation Technician – Phoenix, TX

This position is responsible for hiring & supervising, as well as being a part of, a landscape crew responsible for the ongoing exterior maintenance and curb appeal for a portfolio of 19 medical office buildings in the greater Phoenix area. Duties include hiring full time maintenance crew members, providing budgets and ideas for best landscape practices, Detail and project oriented, experience in landscape maintenance in the desert southwest, comprehensive knowledge of plants and trees, fluency in both English and Spanish, ability to hire, train and motivate and knowledge of irrigation systems. This position interfaces with Building Engineers, Property Managers, Vendors and Regional Management to insure that properties are maintained to the highest standards. This position will be responsible for participating in all phases of day-to-day landscape operations, and requires an individual who is adept at a variety of systems, delegation of tasks, and prioritizing work load.


  • Perform weekly landscape maintenance of multiple commercial medical office buildings, including mowing, edging, trimming, blowing, weed spraying, mulching, shrub trimming, plant installs, hardscape and other various duties.
  • Plan enhancement activities at each location specific to its architecture and requirements.
  • Purchase and install all necessary materials for such maintenance, including seasonal flowers and once/year over-seeding of turf areas.
  • Quality assurance.
  • Tree care (pruning and trimming) for trees up to 10’.
  • Hire maintenance crew members as required to properly maintain weekly schedule.
  • Discretionary purchase of tools and equipment needed to perform all duties.
  • Gather and removal of litter, trimmings, leaves and clippings to a designated area.
  • Maintain and/or repair tools, equipment, fences, etc.
  • Property upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters or other grounds features.
  • Reporting to Property Management of any deficiencies and/or trip hazards or any condition that may cause risk ASAP.
  • Train and evaluate effectiveness of crew.
  • Ensure proper use, care and inventory of company vehicle, equipment and tools assigned.
  • Install, troubleshoot and repair many types and models of irrigation controllers and control valves.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and completed work orders.
  • Prepare necessary documents and reports. 



  • Must have at least four years of commercial landscaping crew experience and two years as lead.
  • Irrigation experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work outside for numerous hours in various types of weather.
  • Reliable transportation to work.
  • Must be able to use assigned tools in a safe manner.
  • Must understand and use proper safety procedures and conform to OSHA regulations.
  • Must be able to perform basic math calculations.
  • Must attend meetings as needed.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must perform regular safety inspections on vehicle, trailer (if applicable) and equipment.
  • Must be able to keep up with company schedule.
  • Must be able to operate powered equipment such as mowers, chain saws, electric clippers, sod cutters and pruning saws.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are highly desirable.
  • Must pass background check.

  • Must be flexible, able to manage multiple parallel tasks where priorities and deadlines shift frequently

  • Must be able to wear PPE as necessary.
  • Must be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day.
  • Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, i.e., rain, heat, sun, cold.
  • Must be able to traverse various terrains.
  • Must be able to write, read and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information.
  • Must be able to communicate with others.
  • Must be able to maintain attention during dangerous tasks.
  • Must be able to lift, move and maneuver up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Must have sufficient eyesight to judge distances and coordination to get and use the appropriate equipment and tools.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and Motor Vehicle Records Check (MVR).
  • Must have a valid Arizona State driver’s license.
